Visual Novel News:
Shiravune have come out with another surprise visual novel announcement – Marshmallow All the Way Home will be released on January 7th 2021. A release has only been announced for Johren at this time.
Marshmallow All the Way Home also known as Ouchi ni Kaeru made ga Mashimaro Desu follows Ryou who is given a place to stay after becoming homeless. In exchange, he has to work at the pâtisserie, “Marshmallow Tree.
JAST and Minato Carnival World have partnered for a simultaneous worldwide release of Kurokami-sama’s Feast. This is scheduled on January 21st 2022 and will be coming to the JAST Store, Steam, and the Nintendo Switch. A demo of the PC version is currently available.
It follows Domaru, a young manga artist who joins a group dedicated to learning about spirits, yokai and the occult in order to find new material for his next story

A Steam store page has now been added and the release date of 22nd of January has been added. It’s been quite a while since we last received any kind of update, but some light has been shed on the progress of the hotly anticipated Final Fantasy XVI! The news was presented as a message from the game’s producer, Naoki Yoshida and the news he shared wasn’t too great. The circumstances brought upon by the COVID-19 pandemic have caused the development of the title to be pushed back by almost half a year, mostly due to communication issues between members of staff who continued their work from home. On the plus side, the team is set to make their next big reveal for the game sometime this Spring!
It’s hard to believe, but Atlus’ smash hit, Persona 5‘s western release will be five years old this April! If you’ve been itching to see the continuation of the Phantom Thieves’ exploits, Atlus and Koei Tecmo released an action-RPG title last year that serves as a direct follow-up: Persona 5 Strikers! If you never had a chance to play it, if you’re a PlayStation user with a PlayStation+ subscription, you’ll be thrilled to hear it’s coming as one of the free games for January!
During our Christmas break, TYPE-MOON announced that one of their visual novels, Mahoutsukai no Yoru: Witch on the Holy Night is getting an anime film from unfotable. If you haven’t had a chance to try the source material yet, it’s coming to more platforms in Japan in 2022; specifically for the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch.

Anime News:
For fans of anime and/or visual novels, the name Key holds a lot of prestige! Their next anime project has been re-announced, based on their Summer Pockets VN from 2018. It tells the story of a young man named Takahara Hairi traveling to a remote island and learning how to properly enjoy his summer vacation. The adaptation was first announced back in 2017, then was re-announced in early 2021, with production now finally being confirmed.
One of the most influential romantic comedy manga stories is making its long-awaited return to television after 35 years! Urusei Yatsura is your tried-and-tested love story, but the twist is that it’s between a down on his luck high school student and an alien girl from a race of beings called Oni. This new series is planned to be released across four parts and (quite fittingly) david production, best known for their adaptation of Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure is in charge of the animation production.
Urusei Yatsura‘s new series will premiere sometime in 2022.

After airing the New Years’ special, a new series for The Irregular at Magic High School was announced at the end of the broadcast! Details are scarce at the moment, such as who is helming the project or when it will premiere.
