Nook News – 1/5/22 – All The Utawarerumono!

Visual Novel News:

While not a visual novel itself, Shiravune have announced the upcoming PC release of Monochrome Mobius: Rights and Wrongs Forgotten. It’s a JRPG featuring several of the characters from the legendary Utawarerumono Mask titles; Oshtor, Mikazuchi and Munechika. All three of the visual novels in this series are highly recommended and can be found on Steam and PlayStation 4.

MangaGamer has released MOONSTONE’s Uchikano – Living With My Sister.

As the title suggests, it follows the protagonist whose sister Riho, who suddenly moves in with him. Riho has been aware of her brother as a member of the opposite sex for a long time and this situation blooms into a something beyond brother and sister.

NekoNyan have announced a Nintendo Switch release for Senren * Banka. It is set to release on the 26th of May 2022.

With sentient swords, priestesses, and demons, Senren * Banka has an interesting setting. It follows the protagonist who moves to a town that seems stuck in the past and is pushed into an engagement with the local shrine priestess.

In other Nintendo Switch news, Prototype has released OshiRabu: Waifus Over Husbandos + ~Love・or・die~ via the eShop. While the announcement is in Japanese, it says it will come with text in four languages; Japanese, English, Chinese (simplified), and Korean.

The story starts with an accidental proposal. Even before this though, it starts with Akuru’s true love – her husbando. We learn that our protagonist Akuru is an obsessive player of gacha games. Enter Ren, seemingly the luckiest woman around. Through a chance meeting, Ren meets Akuru and wins the prize she wants for her. Through some unlikely events, this evolves into her obsessively chasing Akuru, who has never thought of women that way. Somehow Ren manages to trade her luck into being able to stay at Akuru’s home, despite Akuru’s apparent lack of interest.

OshiRabu Title

Alicesoft has announced the upcoming release of A Housewife’s Healing Touch, a new, adult game starring a married lady. It’s coming out on May 27th on a variety of platforms shown in the image below.

Set in a world with magic, it has gameplay elements around battling demons. A Pure Love and NTR route are both available.

ebi-hime has released another yuri visual on Steam and Itch. Salome’s Kiss is described as a lesbian gothic romance tale set in Victorian England, in which an anxious governess is aggressively pursued by her unruly, tempestuous pupil..

While Sonic the Hedgehog has been dominating the box office, even to the point of becoming the highest-grossing video game film in the US, Mario is taking a bit more time to get ready for the red carpet. Creator of Super Mario, Shigeru Miyamoto, posted a statement announcing that Illumination’s animated adaptation of the beloved game franchise will be delayed to 2023. Originally slated for a December 21st, 2022 release, the film will now premiere on April 7th, 2023.

Anime News:

The Sailor Moon franchise recently turned 30 years old and fans have been wondering when the final arc of the series would get the re-animated treatment. Thankfully, we won’t have to wait too long, as it was announced that the Stars arc will be adapted into a two-part film titled Sailor Moon Cosmos! The announcement came with the key visual and a short teaser trailer.

Sailor Moon Cosmos premieres in Japan in Summer 2023.

Announced back in 2019, we finally have more information on the anime adaptation of the final game in the Utawarerumono trilogy! We received a brand new trailer, key visual, and the series is set to premiere this July. The series is set to be 28 episodes long, with the first two episodes being aired back-to-back.

While we’ve still got a bit of time to wait for Gundam‘s return to television, we’re getting a film that retells a story from the original series.  Mobile Suit Gundam: Cucuruz Doan’s Island takes the 15th episode of the original series and adapts it into a feature film. The film is set to premiere in Japan on June 3rd and we have our first look at the film in the form of a brand new trailer.

We’re getting a new anime adaptation of a manga series that will premiere in 2023The Legendary Hero is Dead was written by Subaruichi and tells the story of an ordinary farmer accidentally killing a legendary hero and the events that occur afterward. The announcement was made with the series’ key visual and a short video teaser.
