NekoNyan has announced that Love, Chocolate, and Elections (Koi to Senkyo to Chocolate) will be released on Steam and other platforms on March 28th, 2025. This visual novel is by the developers sprite, who also worked on Aokana -Four Rhythms Across the Blue-.

Sappy romantic Oojima Yuuki and notorious chocolate-hater Sumiyoshi Chisato are longtime friends who both attend Takafuji Academy, a massive mega-school with over 5,000 students. The two are part of the Culinary Research Club—which sounds cool on paper, but in actuality, is just an excuse to sit around and eat junk food with their friends. As the Student Council presidential election approaches, however, the CRC is targeted for termination by a prominent candidate named Shinonome Satsuki. Their only option: Join the election and keep her from winning at any cost!

Following a recent delay, JAST USA have announced via Reddit and by updating the store page that Mojika: Truth Rears It’s Ugly Head will be released on March 31st, 2025.

A dark visual novel from Nitro Origin about bullying, revenge, and the thoughts we hide deep inside. A hideously ugly boy with the power to read thoughts is pushed too far by the girls who bully him, and decides to use his ability to enact revenge.

Following a delay, ALTERCIWS have now released Phantom Thief Angels: Twin Angel – Labyrinth of Time and World – Re:light (Kaitou Tenshi Twin Angel ~Toki to Sekai no Labyrinth~), a HD remaster of the 2011 PSP title. It was meant to release in December 2024, but the Steam review process caused some issues.

This release is unvoiced, with a DLC including the voices due to release on March 21st, 2025. A price for the DLC has not been stated at this time.

Kamitsubaki Studio has released Kamitsubaki City Regenerate, a dark sci-fi visual novel. It was localized by Lemnisca, who’ve worked on titles including The Shell (Kara no Shoujo) and Root Double -Before Crime * After Days-.

In a world parallel to our own resides the city of Kamitsubaki. One day, the player, an “Observer,” is summoned to this ill-fated world. There, they meet a girl named Kafu, and set out on a quest with her to save the world from its impending doom.

Gaming News:

It’s hard to believe, but Chrono Trigger recently turned 30 years old! This Super Nintendo RPG was a collaboration no one would have ever expected at the time; a game worked on by people from both Squaresoft and Enix before they merged, along with timeless art from the legendary Akira Toriyama. To celebrate this milestone, we received an official statement from Square-Enix and announced they are currently planning a variety of projects over the next year that they claim will, “…go beyond the world of the game.”

During a panel during the SXSW event last week, Kojima Productions’ latest game, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach got a bunch of new information and a massive trailer! We also got confirmation of multiple versions of the game, such as a digital deluxe edition that grants two days of early access. Last but not least, the new trailer finally confirmed the game’s full release date.

Announced back in 2022, Konami was finally ready to share more details on the next entry in the Silent Hill franchise! Silent Hill f is the first game in the series to take place in Japan and will be set in a small secluded town in the 1960s. You take on the role of a school girl named Shimizu Hinako as you navigate the town covered by a mysterious fog as you try to escape the new horrors that have infected this humble town. Akira Yamaoka will be returning to provide new music for the game, with the script being handled by Ryukishi07, who is most well known as the creator of Higurashi When They Cry.

Silent Hill f will release for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC. No release date was announced at this time.

While Dead by Daylight has previously released collaborations based on famous anime properties, this latest game update will be bringing the largest one to date! Ken Kaneki from Tokyo Ghoul is coming to the game as a playable killer, making him the first anime character to receive a full moveset designed around their unique abilities. Ken’s original voice actor, Natsuki Hanae will also be reprising their role to bring life to the character.

The Tokyo Ghoul chapter in Dead by Daylight releases on April 2nd.

Anime News:

While we’ve known about this project for a while, we finally have our first full look at this new anime adaptation! Based on the manga of the same name, Gachiakuta received its first full trailer, giving us a glimpse at this upcoming series. On top of that, we now have an idea of when the series will be set to premiere.

Gachiakuta will be premiering this July.

New anime content based on Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece has been on a hiatus for quite a while, but we now have confirmation when the anime series will return! The second part of the Egghead arc in One Piece will begin airing on April 6th.

Upcoming Releases:

While it was hit with a delay, Assassin’s Creed Shadows is finally ready for release this week! Set during the Sengoku period in Japan, you take on the roles of both a kunoichi named Fujibayashi Naoe and a samurai named Yasuke. You can play as either character to take on the various new missions that fans of the series are sure to recognize.

The Nintendo Switch is now the only platform where you can play every entry in the Xenoblade Chronicles series thanks to the release of this next title! Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition is a re-release of the original game that was previously a Wii U exclusive. This title brings back the massive overworld fans are expecting, but with the added twist of being able to pilot a mech.

Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition releases exclusively for Nintendo Switch on March 20th.

Koei Tecmo and Gust’s latest entry in the Atelier series is launching this week! Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories & the Envisioned Land sees you playing as a new character named Yumia as you travel the world, with a big focus on this new game being about the concept of memories, while also including the alchemy mechanics fans have come to expect.

After over a decade, one of Shonen Jump’s most popular titles is getting a brand-new console video game this week!
