Nook News – 3/4/24 | A Brand New Pokémon Legends Game Announced!

Visual Novel News:

Frontwing has announced the upcoming launch of Lilja and Natsuka: Painting Lies, a story where a blind painter and her energetic assistant unravel the mysteries behind their clients’ requests. The scenario was written by Asou Ei (euphoria, Makoto route in Sakura no Uta -Sakura no Mori no Ue o Mau-) and it features main charactered voiced by Yurie Igoma (Ruby Hoshino from Oshi no Ko) and Tomoyo Takayanagi (Mikan from The Demon Girl Next Door.)

Lilja and Natsuka: Painting Lies is due to launch on Steam on the 6th June, 2024 in English, Japanese, and Chinese.

There’s a rumor spreading quietly across the internet: “An anonymous painter will paint anything you request.” They do not want money or fame. Capricious and eccentric, the painter only accepts requests that pique their interest. Those lucky enough to meet this mysterious criteria will be chosen to meet with Lilja—a beautiful girl with long, fairy-like silver hair and eyes that shine like gemstones. Even though she is blind and wheelchair-bound, this does not hinder her genius. “From this day forward, I’m going to become your new eyes and legs!” Natsuka is her energetic live-in assistant. She acts as Lilja’s eyes and legs, using her instinct and intuition to find the inspiration and information beyond what’s necessary that Lilja seeks. “I don’t know for sure, but I can feel it!”

PQube has announced the upcoming release of MAGES’ visual novel, B-PROJECT RYUSEI*FANTASIA which follows the lives and careers of the idol group “B-Project”. It advertises 14 different idols to represent, original music, and interactive mechanics.

Dramatic create have released Of the Red, the Light, and the Ayakashi Tsuzuri (Akaya Akashiya Ayakashino) on Steam and Nintendo Switch with English, Japanese, and Chinese language support. This visual novel is based on the PlayStation Portable version which was released in 2014.

Yue is a young boy, born in a mountain shrine in the town of Utsuwa. One day, he attends the winter festival together with his childhood friend, a black fox named Kurogitsune. The lanterns burn bright red, and the people are buzzing. As Yue sees the outside world for the first time in his life, he meets two mysterious boys. Upon returning to the mountain, the owner of the shrine, Mikoto, told him. Prepare the “meal”.

In nukige news, Shiravune has announced the release date of a title known as Holy Maid Academy or Holy Slave Academy depending on the platform (Saint Dorei Gakuen in Japanese). This visual novel is by Liquid, a developer known for Kuroinu.

Holy Maid Academy will launch on Steam and Johren on 2nd April, 2024.

Since its inception by the Nishiki family—a longstanding powerhouse in the local area—St. Martius Academy has served as a center of education for generations of maids. When Ryunosuke Kokuto receives a personal invitation from the chairman of this respected edifice to serve as a professor, he doesn’t say no to the opportunity.

The Pokémon Company recently held a short presentation that provided updates for their released games, along with brand-new game announcements! The first is a mobile title that brings the Pokémon Trading Card Game to phones later this year in Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket. Not only will they be adapting existing artwork from the card game, but new immersive cards that expand into much larger illustrations. The second announcement is the confirmation we’re getting a sequel to Pokémon Legends: Arceus, but set in the Kalos Region from Pokémon X and Y. Titled Pokémon Legends: Z-A, it appears to be the long-awaited follow-up to the sixth generation of the franchise, along with teasing the return of the fan-favorite Mega Evolution system.

During the recent Nintendo Partner Showcase, there was a game that was revealed in the Japanese version but was strangely absent from other regions. Now that game has been confirmed for a global release thanks to NIS America! Reynatis is an action RPG developed by FuRyu and is set in Shibuya, Tokyo. The game also has some pretty big names working on it such as Kazushige Nojima, best known for writing for writing games in the Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts series, along with Yoko Shimomura composing the soundtrack, who is behind the soundtrack to the Kingdom Hearts franchise.

Reynatis releases for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC this Fall.

The asymmetrical multiplayer game set in the Dragon Ball universe just got a huge update which should bring new life to the title! Dragon Ball: The Breakers recently released its fifth season of content and brings with it some highly requested characters to the game: Goku Black and Zamasu. On top of this, the new update also finally brings in crossplay support, allowing you to play with players across the many platforms the game has released on.

Anime News:

The One Punch Man anime has had quite a bumpy history over the last nine years. Firstly, the series started at Madhouse in 2015, with it taking the entire anime community by storm. Season 2 was handled by J.C. Staff and released in 2019, but it left many fans highly underwhelmed by the difference in production values. Season 3 was rumored to be handled by MAPPA, though it was recently confirmed that J.C. Staff will be returning for the third season of One Punch Man! The announcement was made in the form of a new trailer which finally showed footage of the highly anticipated season, but no release window was announced at this time.

Vanillaware’s next big game is ready for release this week! Unicorn Overlord is a new strategy RPG that has a roster of over 60 characters featuring the beautiful visuals Vanillaware is famous for. The game sees you playing as an exiled prince named Alain gathering new allies to take back his kingdom from the Zenoiran Empire.

Unicorn Overlord releases for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, and Nintendo Switch on March 8th.
