After teasing that a new horror-themed project was in the works, Nintendo has officially revealed what the deal is with Emio. Following a remake of the originals, Nintendo has announced a new instalment in the Famicom Detective Club series which is the first completely new instalment in over 30 years. This new mystery revolves around a student found dead with a paper bag with a creepy smile over their head. This looks to be similar to a series of murders that involved an urban legend revolving around someone named Emio, the Smiling Man. Now it’s up to you to solve this long-unsolved mystery and discover the truth behind the Smiling Man murders. To tell you more, they posted a video with the producer Yoshio Sakamoto.
Emio – The Smiling Man: Famicom Detective Club launches for Nintendo Switch on 29th August 2024.
In Emio – The Smiling Man: Famicom Detective Club, a student has been found dead in a chilling fashion, his head covered with a paper bag with an eerie smiling face drawn on it. This unsettling visage bears a striking resemblance to a recurring clue in a string of unsolved murders from 18 years ago—as well as Emio (the Smiling Man), a killer of urban legend who is said to grant his victims “a smile that will last forever.”
