Anime Expo 2024 recently came and went, and it brought with it a ton of game and anime reveals! We’ve already covered all the visual novel announcements (which you can find here if you missed them), so let’s go over all the other biggest announcements we received:
Gaming News:
After more than a decade, Tite Kubo’s Bleach is getting a brand-new console game! Bleach Rebirth of Souls was revealed at Bandai Namco’s panel and is set to be a 3D action fighting game developed by Tamsoft. While we have no release window as of now, we know that the game will cover the events from the beginning of the original series up to the Arrancar arc.
Bleach Rebirth of Souls is coming to PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, and PC.

We’re not even a month past the release of the latest game in the Trails series, but we already have word on when we’ll be getting the sequel! NIS America revealed that The Legend of Heroes: Trails Through Daybreak II is getting a Western release! The announcement was made through an announcement trailer, which also came with a release window.
The Legend of Heroes: Trails Through Daybreak II launches for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC in early 2025.

But NIS America wasn’t done with the localization announcements! The newest entry in the long-running Ys series is also coming to the West too, and quite soon as well!
Ys X: Nordics releases for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC on October 25th.

Not to be outdone, Idea Factory had some localization announcements of their own! The latest entry in the Hyperdimension Neptunia franchise is coming to the West, but it’s not the kind of game you might be expecting! Neptunia Riders VS Dogoos takes inspiration from the likes of Katamari Damacy in this multiplayer battle game where the well-known Neptunia characters go head-to-head against each other.
Neptunia Riders VS Dogoos releases for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch in 2025.

We also got word that the third entry in the Death end re;Quest series is also coming to the West! Death end re;Quest Code Z is an RPG set in a parallel universe, with the story being penned by the writer for Corpse Party, Makoto Kedouin.

The latest Hunter X Hunter game already has numerous characters from the Phantom Troupe, but we now have the group leader confirmed to be joining the roster! Chrollo was announced in a short trailer that gave us a glimpse at his varied moveset and super moves.
Hunter X Hunter: Nen Impact is coming to PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC in 2024.

Upcoming Releases:
As a little break from the Anime Expo announcements, a title that may be nostalgic for some of our audience is releasing later this week. Princess Maker 2 Regeneration releases on Nintendo Switch and PC on the 11th July 2024. The PlayStation version is due for a later release on the 8th August 2024, but it should be noted that the developer has advised that the PlayStation version has some content changes.
Princess Maker 2 Regeneration is a remake of a classic PC-98 simulation game (later ported to multiple platforms) where you need to raise a daughter from age 10 to 18. It includes several endings and art from Takami Akai of GAINAX.

Anime News:
We’ve waited many years for this, but Panty and Stocking are finally making their grand comeback! New Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt is the upcoming second season of the cult classic anime series. While the original series was previously owned by Gainax, the rights now belong to Studio Trigger, who is handling the production of this new season. We didn’t get a trailer for the new season, but we got our first look at the key visual for it, along with the release window.
New Panty & Stocking with Gerterbelt is set to premiere in 2025.
Alongside the announcement of a brand new Bleach game, the story of Ichigo Kurosaki continues with the third part of the final arc of the series! Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War‘s third cour titled Part 3 – The Conflict got a brand new trailer, key visual, and a release window of October 2024.

After almost four years of waiting, we finally have word on the return and conclusion of the anime adaptation of Atsushi Ohkubo’s Fire Force! This final season will be split into two cours, with the first premiering in January 2025 and the second in January 2026. To make the announcement, we got a key visual and a short teaser trailer.

Fire Force isn’t the final season being split into two parts. Beastars‘ final season has been confirmed via a short teaser and key art! The first half of the final season will be released on Netflix this December, with no word on when we’ll be getting the second part.

Trigun Stampede ended back in 2023 and we’ve been waiting for news on its continuation. We now have official confirmation of the follow-up and it’s titled Trigun Stargaze! We’ve got no word on when we’ll get this follow-up but we received a special illustration from Trigun‘s original creator, Yasuhiro Nightow.
After many teases, we got more information on the anime adaptation of the Shonen Jump series, Blue Box! The series is being animated by TMS and we got not only a new key visual for the adaptation, but also confirmation that the series will be available to stream on Netflix.
Blue Box is premiering this October, with the Netflix release set to go live in 2024.
We thankfully don’t have to wait too much longer for the continuation of Black Butler‘s anime adaptation! We got confirmation that the next arc, the Emerald Witch arc is now in the works, and in a short teaser trailer, we’ve not only got our first look at the series, but a release window of 2025.

While it was teased quite recently, we got more information on Guilty Gear‘s first full anime series! Guilty Gear Strive: Dual Rulers got its first trailer and confirmation that the series will be released in 2025.
