JAST USA has announced that Ninetail’s Gears of Dragoon: Fragments of a New Era will be released on the 28th September, 2023 via JAST Store and Steam. While described as a dungeon crawler EroRPG, this title contains storytelling via visual novel scenes and is listed on VNDB.
Gears of Dragoon: Fragments of a New Era is a standalone experience, focused on dungeon crawling in a labrynth beneath a city that’s rife with discontent. Rumor has it that if you reach the bottom of the labrynth, the truth behind the land’s problems will be revealed… as will a whole lot of treasure.

Frontwing USA have announced the release date of AIKAGI After Days, the direct sequel to AIKAGI, which we previously reviewed. It will be released on Steam on 25th August, 2023.
AIKAGI After Days depicts a young couple enjoying their college life together. They go on casual dates, work part-time jobs, and their sweet life is filled with happiness as they cherish every single moment they are together. Some scenes take place in the apartment they share, while other scenes take you to campus, to the mall, or even to the restaurants nearby. There are plenty of new situations that weren’t in the previous game! This time the game story is set in summer, and the shy childhood sweethearts’ relationship has been growing bolder since the busy spring. In AIKAGI After Days, every aspect of Nozumu and Shiori’s life is dyed in summer colors as they get out their swimsuits and yukatas to enjoy their summer vacation together!
Shiravune have announced the upcoming release of Taimanin Asagi on Steam and Johren. An exact date has not been announced, but it has been set as Q4 2023 on the Steam Store page. This franchise by developer Lilith has spawned multiple games and anime OVA.

A new publisher has released an English localization of Kagitori -Bird In The Cage Hiding The Key- (Kagi o Kakushita Kago no Tori) by developer cabbit. Inter De Pendence has released this as an all-ages version with no adult patch available or planned. There also appear to be issues with the translation judging by the screenshots (example below), demo and comments by the visual novel community. They are asking for assistance with improving the translation, as outlined below.
They posted the following in a post in the community forums: “Our company is located in Japan and is a small company run by two Japanese staff. Translation work is done one by one by hand by us. We have connections with visual novel game companies in Japan, and we started this company to promote their games not only to Japan but also to the world. There is one difficulty, however, we are not native English speakers, and some of our translations are somewhat strange. This is why we would appreciate it if you could comment on this thread about the translation, specifically citing the sentences before and after it that are not correct”.
Sekai Project’s Hoshizora no Memoria -Wish upon a Shooting Star has been updated to include HD assets. This update is free for all owners of the software. The previous version remains available via a branch on Steam.

Once You returns to his hometown, he searches for that childhood friend, only to find his previous meet-up location is now fenced-off and abandoned. While out searching, he instead stumbles on a mysterious girl named Mare who carries a scythe and claims to be a Grim Reaper. Now back in his hometown, You starts to rebuild his life, making friends and continuing his search for the girl he made a promise to. Will he eventually find his promised love? Who is this mysterious girl and why does she seem so familiar?
Novamicus has posted the promotional video for the upcoming remake of classic visual novel ONE. The English localization of this is due to be released by Shiravune on 22nd December, 2023.
