Visual Novel News:

Idea Factory has announced that romantic comedy otome, Cupid Parasite, will be launching physically and digitally for the Nintendo Switch in Fall 2021 in North America and Europe. It follows a Cupid working at a bridal agency in Los York, a metropolis. She’s on a mission to get five people married in order to get her promotion.

MangaGamer has launched Christmas Tina, which focuses on the struggle of those less fortunate in a wealthy society. These are working class people, struggling to save money for important medical bills or immigrants hoping to go to university one day. This visual novel is set against the backdrop of the Japanese economic bubble of the late 1980s. It’s not something often focused on in visual novels.

Shiravune has surprise dropped visual novels yet again. Primal Hearts and Primal Hearts 2. Shiravune described them as ‘chunky games with plenty of cute girls!, both of which can be found on Johren. VNDB list them as being 30-50 hours long each, so there’s quite a lot of content here.

Yuzusoft has announced Parquet, an all-ages game under a the new Yuzusoft Sour label. Soon after, NekoNyanSoft announced that they would be releasing the game in English and Chinese on the 27th of August.

Cycling back to otome games, Heart Fragment:Book One has released on Itch.io and Steam. This visual novel focuses on the idea of finding a happy ending, while going through some rather trying situations.

Gaming News:

For those who didn’t have a Wii U back in 2014 and missed the chance to play one of the entries in the Fatal Frame series, you’ll soon be getting your chance to return to the renowned horror franchise! Koei Tecmo has confirmed that the enhanced version of Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water is arriving just in time for Halloween, with it releasing on October 28th. It will be releasing on the Playstation 5, Playstation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. We also received a 4-minute overview trailer about the game that announced the release date.

Initially announced for a Japanese release, we didn’t know when we’ll be getting the next entry in the Hyperdimension Neptunia series. Though we finally have our answer! The crossover with the Senran Kagura series has been confirmed for a western release with a translated version of the original announcement trailer. The game will also be getting a limited edition in the future, but no other details were announced at this time.

Neptunia X Senran Kagura: Ninja Wars releases exclusively for the Playstation 4 in 2021.

Anime News:

Of the most recent successes in Shonen Jump is getting a movie! Jujutsu Kaisen 0 is serving as a prequel to the series, with directing duties being handled by Sung Hoo Park, who previously directed The God of High School. We got our first look at the film in motion with a new trailer, alongside a new key visual announcing the film’s Japanese premiere date.

Jujutsu Kaisen 0 premieres in Japan on December 24th.

During a recent event for the Digimon series, two new projects were announced for the franchise. The first is a new anime series called Digimon Ghost Game that will be airing this Fall. The second, and larger project, is a movie based on the second season of the original series, which also received a teaser trailer.

Who would have thought RPGs and real estate would make for the plot of an anime series? Based on a manga penned by Chiyo Kenmotsu, RPG Real Estate is getting an anime adaptation. While we don’t have an idea when the series will premiere, we received a piece of key art to announce the project.

A collaboration between Toei Animation and Tsuburaya is resulting in an all-new original anime series called Kaiju Decode. Initially revealed in 2019, we have some new videos promoting the series: one is a teaser trailer and the other is a promotional VR experience about the series.

Kaiju Decode is set to premiere in 2021.
