The next entry in the Coffee Talk series was announced and it’s taking place in a whole new location! Coffee Talk Tokyo once again sees you wearing the shoes of a barista serving coffee and an ear to listen to your customer’s problems, even if some of them may be a little more supernatural than you might expect.

Coffee Talk Tokyo is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch, and PC in 2025.

TalesShop has announced their new visual novel from the Working Dog (writer of Her World and Lament of a Lifeless Star). The working title is Sani Ewe’s Lab. It is currently planned to release in Q1 2025 in English and Q4 2024 in Korean.

Not much information is available about this title at the time of writing, but it has been revealed that there are three heroines.

Shiravune has announced the Steam release of Primal Hearts by Marmalade. You can already find this visual novel, it’s sequel Primal Hearts 2, and other titles from the same developer on other platforms such as JAST USA.

After moving into a new town hoping for a new life, Kazuma finds himself the swing vote between two deadlocked factions representing tradition and innovation. Nicknamed “Triple Seven,” can he still live easy and find romance under his new status as a much-contested lucky guy?

Out of nowhere, we got word that a new Nintendo Direct would be taking place, but with a bit of a twist. Instead of focusing on one presentation, this Direct was a double feature! Both an Indie World and Nintendo Partner Showcase were released back-to-back, and it came with a bunch of announcements. Let’s go through the notable ones:

A new update is coming to Sea of Stars titled Throes of the Watchmaker! This new content will have players travel through a miniature clockwork environment while taking on new roles in combat and even recruiting a brand new party member: a robot called Arty. And the best part? This DLC expansion will be completely free for all players who own Sea of Stars!

The Sea of Stars – Throes of the Watchmaker DLC will be available in Spring 2025.

In what was likely the strangest game reveal of the Direct, we have Morsels! This game has you playing as a mouse battling against cats in this top-down action-roguelike. Acquire cards to transform into new powerful creatures called Morsels you can use to battle against the many enemies who’ll be after you.

Morsels releases for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC in February 2025.

We got a small update on the HD-2D remake of Dragon Quest III! This new trailer showcased that you can now customize the appearance of your characters, new content not found in the original release will be included, and even an all-new class called the Monster Wrangler, which allows you to use monster-like abilities in combat.

A remake of one of the most well-known games in the Legend of Heroes series is getting a full remake! The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky the 1st remakes the original release, but now in full 3D. This also includes more seamless exploration across the environment and even the combat system getting a whole new perspective.

The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky the 1st arrives exclusively for Nintendo Switch in 2025. PlayStation and PC versions are currently being considered, but no full releases for either have been confirmed at this time.

Capcom has announced an all-new fighting game collection with even more classic games now being made available for modern consoles! Capcom Fighting Collection 2 includes Capcom vs. SNK: Millennium Fight 2000 ProCapcom vs. SNK 2: Mark of the Millennium 2001Capcom Fighting EvolutionStreet Fighter Alpha 3 UPPERProject JusticePower StonePower Stone 2, and Plasma Sword: Nightmare of Bilstein. This new collection will also include online play with rollback netcode, training modes, and a museum full of official art, concepts, and more.

If you’ve gotten tired of seeing the same character for three Atelier games in a row, you’ll be thrilled to know the next entry in the series will star an all-new protagonist! Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories & the Envisioned Land focuses on a girl called Yumia on a quest to confront her past. The concept of the game is centered around the theme of memory; a journey in which you’ll traverse an open world and engage in combat with the now-familiar alchemy mechanics from the franchise.

The collection of the classic Suikoden games now has a full release date, along with it arriving on other platforms too! This new release will also include one-button automated combat options, along with the choice to speed up the pace of combat.

Suikoden I&II HD Remaster Gate Rune and Dunan Unification Wars launches for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC on March 6th, 2025.

On the topic of Konami, they revealed another collection that ports three popular entries in their Castlevania series! Castlevania Dominus Collection finally ports over the Nintendo DS titles for modern platforms, which include Castlevania: Dawn of SorrowCastlevania: Portrait of Ruin, and Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia. On top of this, the collection will also include Haunted Castle Revisited, which is a redesigned version of the original Castlevania arcade game.

Castlevania Dominus Collection is now available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

A remaster of a Nintendo Wii and PS3 exclusive entry in Bandai Namco’s Tales series is finally arriving on more platforms! Tales of Graces f Remastered graphically enhances the original release, along with including all the DLC from the original game. This new version will also localize scenes into English for the first time.

Tales of Graces f Remastered releases for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC on January 17th, 2025.

An all-new and reimagined entry in the Rune Factory series is coming, and it’s titled: Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma! You take on the role of an Earth Dancer; an individual who has the power to make crops grow faster and has great abilities in combat. Build up your villages in the world of Azuma, while also taking on enemies across the land. The game will also feature a relationship system that’ll allow you to either befriend or romance a variety of characters who call this world home.

To close out the double Nintendo Direct, we got confirmation that the Yakuza series is coming to the Nintendo Switch! What better way to start than the original game? Yakuza Kiwami is a remake of the original title and sees you trying to uncover the truth when 10 billion yen vanishes from the protagonist’s former yakuza family. Explore the intricately detailed district of Kamurocho, complete a ton of side quests, and battle street thugs with a multitude of fighting styles.

Yakuza Kiwami is coming to Nintendo Switch on October 24th.

Outside of the Nintendo Direct, something else took the spotlight last week, and who better to go against Nintendo than the mascot of their former rival? After a long wait, we finally got our first trailer for the highly anticipated third Sonic the Hedgehog movie! The trailer gives us our first proper look at Shadow the Hedgehog in this film universe, who will be voiced by Keanu Reeves. The original cast from the previous films will also be returning in what’s looking to be the biggest video game adaptation of the year.

Sonic the Hedgehog 3 arrives in theaters on December 20th.

With less than a month before the next title in The Legend of Zelda series arrives, it made sense for us to get a new trailer for it! This new trailer for The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom introduces The Still World, where items absorbed by rifts end up and it’s up to Zelda to explore them on her quest to save Hyrule. We also got the reveal of a Swordfighter form for Zelda, which will allow her to attack enemies directly.

We now have a full release date for an RPG based on one of the most popular Shonen manga series! Fairy Tail 2 adapts the final arc of the original manga into an RPG developed by Gust and rehauls the original game’s battle system. Ahead of its release, we got a new trailer for the title, which also revealed the different deluxe versions coming to the game, both physically and digitally.

Fairy Tail 2 releases for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch on December 13th. The PC version will be arriving two days earlier on December 11th.

We now know we’re extremely close to the return of one of the most popular isekai series! Re:ZERO got a brand new trailer and revealed the third season will consist of 16 episodes and is set to premiere on October 2nd, starting with a 90-minute special.

A charming action platformer set in Japan is arriving this week! Bakeru sees you traveling across a variety of stages based on Japanese prefectures, all the while taking on evil spirits and transforming to help add variety to the adventure across the country.

Bakeru launches for Nintendo Switch and PC on September 3rd.

The next collection of titles in the Ace Attorney series launches this week too! Ace Attorney Investigations Collection sees you playing as Miles Edgeworth as he explores crime scenes and tries to solve the mysteries brought to him. This collection is notable because the second installment, titled Ace Attorney Investigations 2: Prosecutor’s Gambit, will be available in English for the first time in this collection.
