You might remember we did an article before about The Otaku Box. If you missed it, it’s an anime surprise box, that leans more to the ecchi side. Each one contains a figure and it lets you vote on what’s coming next.
If you’d like to learn more about this lewd anime box, check out our previous post here. As for this article, we’ll be showing you what arrived in the September 2022 box.
What’s In The Box – September 2022
Opening the box up, I found the following:
- 1/12 scale figure
- T-Shirt
- Cloth Poster
- Draw String Bag
- Bracelet
- Keyring
- Badge/Button
- Waifu Card
- Information Sheet
Figure
The 1/12 scale figure features Suu from Monster Musume: Everyday Life with Monster Girls. Like every month, it’s an exclusive figure made for The Otaku Box, which means it’s not official, but not a fake, which can be a concern with some anime boxes.
Suu is one of my favorite characters from the series, with her difficulties communicating and seemingly innocent misunderstandings around it bringing a lot of humor to the series. It shows her here in her more ‘mature’ form with a raincoat and boots. In particular, I feel like it captures her energetic nature well with the pose and happy expression. The lewd aspect comes in when you notice that she’s not wearing anything underneath the raincoat.
💗Thought I'd share a video of this lovely #AnimeFigure of #Suu from #MonsterMusume

The details on this figure match the official art quite well with some minimal differences. I particularly like how it goes from a solid color that fades into a different tone of green translucent hair. It looks particularly good in a well-lit area. Very happy to add this figure to my collection.
For those who don’t select the 1/12 scale figure, Demon Slayer mini-figures were on offer.
T-Shirt
The Otaku Box for September 2022 includes a t-shirt featuring Coconut from Nekopara. The previous month had her on the cloth poster and it’s nice to see her represented again here, especially as a visual novel fan.
It’s a nice retro-style design, with a stylized version of Coconut wearing her casual outfit, rather than the signature maid one. It has her name in Katakana running down the side too.
I like the colors used here, which work well on the black t-shirt base. Even for people who don’t enjoy Nekopara, who doesn’t like a catgirl?
As noted last time, it seems reasonably thick for a t-shirt. They sent me the large this time, which is very large – it actually comes down halfway to my knees, and I usually vary between a medium or large. I’d suggest keeping sizes in mind when ordering and maybe going one down from the norm.
Cloth Poster
Last time Zero Two from Darling in the Franxx was the 1/12 scale figure – this time she’s on the cloth poster in bridal attire! The SFW version shows a bit of cleavage, but it’s less obviously lewd than Coconut’s from August 2022.
I noted before that I’m not too familiar with Darling in the Franxx, having only watched a few episodes. I can certainly appreciate how beautiful the artwork is here though.
As normal, it requires a quick iron on low heat to get the creases out, and then it’s good to go. As before, it’s 39cm x 59cm, which is certainly a respectable size.
Drawstring Bag
The drawstring bag is a useful item, which is always nice to have included. For example, I still use the glasses case they included in the August 2022 box.
This one features Anya Forger from Spy x Family. One thing I like is that it shows off being an anime fan, but it’s quite discrete. If you go and visit an anime convention like I was invited to recently or meet another fan, it might get noticed. Bring it to work? It’ll probably just get thought of as a bag.
It’s 40cm by 32cm, so can fit quite a lot in and seems reasonably thick, so I’m not worried about it breaking.
Unfortunately, our photo of the drawstring bag had to be removed.
Bracelet
This bracelet features the Genshin Impact Pyro symbol. As one of the few people who’ve never actually played the game, I can still say it’s a nice-looking bracelet overall and clearly shows the fire element.
It has a slight curve to the transparent material covering the symbol, giving it a nice-looking offset view. This is mounted on a metal piece, with some additional metal rings surrounding it. It comes attached with what appears to be a leather band and some braided threads alongside it.
It did take me a while to figure out how to loosen and tighten this, but it was easy after.
Keychain
The keychain itself is of an Otaku Box. It’s silver with a reflective shine, featuring the symbol, description of the box, and URL on each side.
It definitely has some weight to it, which I like. It makes me more aware of it and less likely to lose keys attached. It appears to be well-made too, I would have to exert quite a bit of force to break the chain.
Badge
The badge for September 2022 shows Historia Reiss from Attack on Titan, shown over the Attack on Titan symbol in the background.
It’s a nice piece of artwork, showing her looking quite happy here, which isn’t always the case in the series.
Waifu Card
This month’s shiny waifu card is Cordelia from Fire Emblem Awakening. It has a nice image of her on the front, with a quote and some basic information on the back.
Verdict
I’m happy with the collection of items sent over in The Otaku Box for September 2022. The 1/12 scale figure of Suu is certainly the standout item here and along with most of the other series, fits the ecchi theme.
While the Suu figure is the standout, the Coconut T-Shirt and cloth poster are certainly very nice too. I’ll likely get some good use out of the Spy x Family bag and the weighty keychain has been added to my keyring.
Many thanks go to The Otaku Box for sending out a box for this feature.
