Visual Novel News:
The developer Makura has announced that the international versions of their “Sakura no” series are now in development for a release in both English and Chinese.
No further details have been revealed at this time such as timelines, translation staff, or whether they will be working with a publisher. Visual novels by Makura under the “Sakura no” title include Sakura no Uta -Sakura no Mori no Ue o Mau- and it’s later released prequel, Sakura no Toki -Sakura no Mori no Shita o Ayumu-.
Both titles are very highly rated in community votes on websites such as VNDB and Sakura no Uta has won a variety of awards over the Moe Game Awards and Getchu rankings.

Laplacian have announced the upcoming international release of their newest title, Harmonic Reflections (Kioku no Kenban). It is coming to Steam on July 24th, 2025.
Their Steam page states “AI generation has been used to assist with English translation and some background material production” unlike the Laplacian titles previously released, both self-published and via publishers. The translator of many of their previous titles has stated that they have nothing to do with this visual novel and no knowledge of how they’ve used AI translation.

Our protagonist, Koga Nao, wakes up one morning in high spirits. The birds are singing… and a girl is with him. The girl, Toiro Kirame, he met the previous night at a college drinking party. Spire Games, the developer behind Synesthesia, has announced their upcoming title. Advent: Dawn is due to release sometime during late 2025 / early 2026.
Advent: Dawn is an emotive sci-fi mystery visual novel that weaves psychological suspense, emotional storytelling, and mythological undertones into a branching narrative with multiple endings. Inspired by genre classics like Zero Escape, Ever17, and Steins;gate, this is a story-first experience designed for fans of gripping plots, high emotions and thought-provoking twists.

Gaming News:
Sony and Sucker Punch released a presentation that lasted around 20 minutes all about their next big first-party release: Ghost of Yotei! As the name implies, this is a sequel to Ghost of Tsushima, so if you enjoyed that game, you’ll be right at home here. Along with the extended gameplay showcase, it was also announced that we’ll be getting two different limited edition PlayStation 5 systems inspired by the game.

The first guest character for SNK’s latest fighting game was fully revealed! Ken from Street Fighter is joining as the second DLC character in Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves. He’ll be rocking his appearance from Street Fighter 6, as well as his iconic red gi from Street Fighter 2.

A video game based on Hiro Mashima’s manga, EDENS ZERO is launching this week, but we got one more announcement just before the full release! Based on his most popular series, Fairy Tail 100 Years Quest is getting a collaboration quest in the full game and will feature fan-favourite characters like Natsu, Lucy, and Happy. Your reward for finishing the quest will get you equipment based on the characters.

Fighting game experts 8ing are releasing a new game based on a popular Shonen Jump property! Hunter X Hunter: Nen X Impact is a three-versus-three fighting game where you pick from a roster of 16 characters as you make use of their unique abilities from the series. The game will feature a story mode, along with multiplayer modes to bring the fight to other players.

A unique take on gaming icon Pac-Man is ready to get into the hands of players! Shadow Labyrinth is a metroidvania where you take on the role of The Swordsman as he explores a strange and dark maze. He’s not alone though, as he has a yellow circle companion named Puck who will help with traversal and combat.
