Nook News – 7/31/23 | Final Fantasy XIV Online isn’t over yet!

Visual Novel News:

As rumoured in early leaks and now evidenced, it appears that the remake of Tsukihime: A Piece of Blue Glass Moon is getting a PC release. This is based on a scan of Type-Moon Ace Volume 15 with the PC logo on. While the magazine is reputable, being published by Kadokawa Shoten, otherwise no comment or confirmation regarding a PC version has been made as far as NookGaming are aware as of the time of writing. This includes release dates, languages for the PC version, or anything else. While no comment has been made on the PC version’s languages, the PlayStation and Nintendo Switch versions have been confirmed to be receiving English language. Unlike the original, no 18+ content is included in the remake, or has been mentioned for PC. While we are reporting on this as it has a reputable source confirming it and is notable news, we do note that it has not been evidenced well.

Some big changes have been announced for Visual Arts, who are known for publishing games by Key such as Air, Kanon, Clannad, developing visual novel engines, and spawning multiple other developers. Most notably, they are now owned by Tencent Holdings Ltd, which they state will allow them to grow further and become a more global IP owner. The current CEO Takahiro Baba is also stepping down in favor of Genki Tenkumo (Okano Tohya), who has worked as producer, director and scenario writer of many of their games and anime.

Frontwing USA has released Grisaia Chronos Rebellion on Steam. It notes that “All of the girls from Mihama, past and present, must face off against a new evil terrorist organization in an all-out war“.

SORD (Social Ops, Research & Development) is an agency that was established to recruit and train talented operatives for special anti-terrorism units. All kinds of misfit girls are enlisted in SORD’s training schools. They are issued guns and live ammunition in the name of national defense, for that is the only way they could be granted a place in the world.
Arata is the handler of Class D at Mihama Academy, a school for SORD. Class D is nicknamed “Dead Stock”, because it’s full of third-rate students. In order to increase his students’ chances of survival, Arata trains them using PeTS, an experimental neural signal synchronization technology. During one extrajudicial mission, he finds a mysterious girl sleeping inside an incubator at a terrorist hideout. As if drawn together by fate, Arata is able to sync with her using PeTS, and the two narrowly escape with their lives. The girl introduces herself as “L”, and Arata welcomes her into Class D.

“Love can so easily turn people into liars.” On a hill overlooking the sea is Minatocho’s Aoba Dai-ichi High School. One night, 2nd year student, Tachibana Kaoru is completely heartbroken by her middle school homeroom teacher, Shimotsuki Mirei. That scene is also seen by Minagi Shiori, a model student who is also in Kaoru’s class. In state of despondence, Kaoru opens up to Shiori about her past with Mirei. After listening intently to Kaoru’s story, Shiori, with a mysterious air about her, poses a question. “Instead of forgetting someone you cared about… do you think it’s possible to simply overwrite those memories with different ones?” “I’m not sure if it’s truly possible or not, but I might have to try something like that if I’m going to get over her.” With that, Shiori suddenly makes a surprising request to Kaoru: “I need you to help me forget about my older brother.”
