Visual Novel News:
Key have announced that anemoi, Key’s upcoming full-priced release, will be getting a Steam release with English, Chinese (Simplified) and Japanese support. The visual novel will release in Japan on January 30th, 2026. The release date of the Steam version has not yet been announced.

In other news about Key titles, Visual Arts announced that a free content patch will be coming for the Steam version of Summer Pockets Reflection Blue. Screenshots of this patch show CGs and other content that were cut from the Steam version. You will need to download this patch from an external source if you wish to access the content.

MangaGamer revealed two new licenses as well. The first is Funbag Fantasy 5 by Waffle. This announcement coincides with the Steam page for Funbag Fantasy 4 going live.
The protagonist, Leen, is the third prince of the Kingdom of Regalia. Though he is a legitimate prince, he has been excluded from the royal succession race because of his mother’s origins. Upon turning twenty, he gets dispatched as an earl to the remote province of Boronde. While traveling to his new domain, Leen encounters a female magician who lost her donkey and was stranded. Leen gives her his horse. In return, the female magician presents him with a “magic lamp.” She said it was something to use when feeling lonely… but rather than a wish-granting lamp, it turned out to be a convenient item that summons the succubi, who are famous as dancers.

The second MangaGamer announcement is Moonstone’s Welcome to a Sexy Underworld, which follows Welcome to a Sexy Open World.
Seiya had successfully impregnated all seven of his wives. With that, his destined mission was supposed to be over. However, Laurentide had another legend passed down through the ages in secret. —When the heroes of light are born, so too will the princes of darkness— And that seed shall come from Seiya as well. Kawaiinium has announced the release date of Tayutama: It’s Happy Days, the fandisc of Tayutama: Kiss on My Deity, which we reviewed previously. Tayutama: It’s Happy Days will be released on October 23rd, 2025. As was the case with the Tayutama: Kiss on My Deity, Tayutama: It’s Happy Days” will be a HD remaster available in English, Japanese, Traditional Chinese and Simplified Chinese. An official patch was also announced.
The wild days I spent with the Tayutai were nothing short of life-changing… So much so that I completely forgot I’d even won a hot spring trip in the shopping district raffle.

In another release date update, Shiravune has announced the upcoming Steam/Johren release of Waning Flowers of a World Eternal – The Rainbow Appears After Flowering Rain (Karenai Sekai to Owaru Hana) will be released on September 9th, 2025.
Arriving in a scenic town filled with flowers, Sho and Ren encounters Haru and the others working at a café. Taking up residence on the second floor, Sho begins working alongside them. But one day, he spots Haru sneaking out alone in the dead of night and decides to follow her. Far from town, beneath a pale moonlit tree on a hill surrounded by flowers as far as the eye can see, Sho witnesses the moment a small girl in Haru’s arms turns into a flower. Noticing Sho, Haru smiles sadly at the magnificently blooming flowers. “This is how I’ve managed to survive in this world. But I want to keep on living. Even if that means exchanging another’s life.” Looking up at the falling petals with Haru, Sho declares: “No matter what this world forces upon you… No matter how much others will condemn you…” “I’ll wish for this world to end.”
Gaming News:
After its announcement, fans of Masahiro Sakurai’s flagship character were wondering when we’d learn more about the pink puffball’s return to the racing genre. We now have more info on the sequel to the GameCube’s Kirby Air Ride in a whole Nintendo Direct presentation! Kirby Air Riders big addition is the inclusion of many characters from the Kirby universe, along with a new Special mechanic that lets a character use a skill unique to them. Then there’s the new version of City Trials which now takes place in a large open city called Skyah. This mode now supports up to 16 players as you explore the city and take on PVP challenges to boost your stats for the final event.
Kirby Air Riders is coming exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2 on November 20th.

Aside from new information for a big holiday title from Nintendo, Gamescom took place in Germany last week! Quite a lot of was announced during the event, so let’s get right to it:
No, your eyes aren’t playing tricks on you. Bubsy the Bobcat is getting an all-new 3D platformer titled Bubsy 4D! Developed by Fabraz, Bubsy now has to take on a new enemy: the BaaBots. A group of sheep that were originally captured by the Woolies before overthrowing their captors and utilizing Woolie technology to make them more powerful. This return to 3D platforming grants Bubsy the ability to transform into a round furball as you careen and smash through environments. You’ll also have access to skills to change up the gameplay, like an ability that lets you temporarily run on air like a classic cartoon character.
Bubsy 4D arrives for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, and PC. No release date was announced at this time.

Two gaming icons are joining forces in their new games! PAC-MAN and Sonic the Hedgehog are getting DLC with the other character in both Pac-Man World 2 Re-PAC and Sonic Racing CrossWorlds. The former will add a new level themed on Green Hill Zone and includes new costumes inspired by the blue blur himself. The latter lets you play as not only PAC-MAN, but the ghosts that always seem to haunt him, as well as including a race track themed to the franchise. We also got confirmation that an open beta test for Sonic Racing CrossWorlds will be taking place from August 29th to September 1st.

A sequel to CI Games and Hexwork’s recent action-RPG was announced at Gamescom! Lords of the Fallen II got a cinematic trailer to announce the sequel, with players traversing a shattered kingdom overtaken by a dark force known as the Umbral. The soulslike combat from the first game is returning, along with the Umbral lamp mechanic that lets you cross between multiple realms.

The caped crusader is returning to video games, but he’s a little blockier than you may have imagined! LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is the next big LEGO game from Traveller’s Tales (now known as TT Games) that goes for a similar open-world structure to that of LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. The game can be played solo or with a buddy in co-op as you explore a massive Gotham City and take on missions inspired by movies such as The Dark Knight and The Batman.

Another huge collaboration between two gigantic franchises is coming soon! Monster Hunter Wilds and Final Fantasy XIV are both having collaboration events in their respective games! In Monster Hunter Wilds, you’ll be able to ride a Chocobo and the opportunity to take on a new boss: The Omega Planetes. In Final Fantasy XIV, you’ll be able to get a new mount and a new super boss to take out themed from a monster from Monster Hunter.
The Final Fantasy XIV collaboration in Monster Hunter Wilds releases with Title Update 3 in late September, while the collab in Final Fantasy XIV will be available in early October.

We got more gameplay footage for Capcom’s upcoming return to the Onimusha series! Alongside the new gameplay, a few new characters were showcased and revealed that the game will be receiving an English dub.

A new game in the Arknights franchise is coming soon titled Arknights: Endfield! We got a new trailer for the title, which is being listed as a 3D RPG and looks to play like Genshin Impact or Wuthering Waves. The game also looks to include a resource simulation mechanic too.

It’s not too long until a big expansion for Bethesda’s adaptation of Indiana Jones arrives! Titled The Order of Giants, you’ll play as Indy as you explore a underground section of Rome as you discover a huge secret right under the city known as the Nephilim Order. But that’s not all, as we also got the announcement that the full game of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 in 2026!

We got a few more details for Deadpool‘s VR debut! The game will see the merc with a mouth going up against X-Men villain, Mojo as he’s sucked into Mojoworld to serve as entertainment. Deadpool uses this opportunity to become richer than he could possibly imagine, so he signs a contract and is thrust into multiple whacky situations across the Marvel universe.

In a short trailer, we got another look at Perfect World Games’ latest title: Neverness to Everness! In this new open world RPG, a large emphasis is placed on driving across this massive city, along with 3D action combat fans of gacha games are likely very familiar with.
Neverness to Everness is coming to PlayStation 5, PC, iOS, and Android. No release date was announced at this time.

This unique take on rhythm games has been in the works for quite a while, but it’s finally ready for release in 2025! UNBEATABLE puts you in the shoes of Beat, a pink-haired girl as you play music at concerts while always ending up on the wrong side of the law, forcing you to fight your way out of it. The game presents itself as an adventure game where you can interact with characters and providing more context for each of the songs you’ll be able to play. There’s even an arcade mode that adds in new modifiers, a progression system, and even online functionality.

Ninja Gaiden 4 got a new trailer that gives us our first look into the game’s story! You take on the roles of both Ryu Hayabusa and a new character named Yakumo. The plot looks to focus on a being called the Dark Dragon and it’s how Yakumo and Ryu come into conflict with each other.

The latest entry in Konami’s Silent Hill franchise is now only a month away! At Gamescom this year, we got a new look at Silent Hill f‘s story in a new trailer. We follow a girl named Hinako trying to survive as the town of Ebisugaoka is overrun by a mysterious fog that warps the rural town into a living nightmare. This new trailer also revealed that the game will be featuring an English voice cast.

In a new trailer for Sony and Sucker Punch’s new game unveiled more content coming to Ghost of Yotei! After the launch of the game this October, we’ll be getting a free multiplayer mode titled Legends that’ll allow you to play cooperative missions or survival matches as you can pick between a variety of character classes. This new DLC will be releasing for Ghost of Yotei in 2026.

As promised after its announcement at Summer Game Fest, we got a new look at Capcom’s next mainline entry in the Resident Evil franchise! This new trailer focuses on the protagonist, Grace Ashcroft and something dark that happened in her past relating to her mother. Alongside this new trailer, we’ve also been given a glimpse into the gameplay of the new title, which lets you swap between a first and third person perspective.

To close out the Gamescom opening ceremony, we got the announcement that Game Science is working on a brand-new game! After the huge success of Black Myth: Wukong, fans of that game will be thrilled to hear we’re getting a new game in the Black Myth series! While it was just a cinematic trailer, it announced that we won’t be focusing on the story of Sun Wukong, but that of a different character: Zhong Kui!
Black Myth: Zhong Kui is coming to consoles and PC. No release window was announced at this time.

Even outside of Gamescom, there were a bunch of other big announcements, so let’s start with the biggest:
Over the last six years, it’s been a running joke that the sequel to Team Cherry’s Hollow Knight was never going to release due to there being next to no information in that time. But finally, that joke has run its course, as Hollow Knight Silksong‘s release date was finally revealed and it’s coming a lot sooner than you might expect!

Bandai Namco were teasing a new remaster for a classic title in their Tales Of franchise. After a little bit of waiting, we now know which game will be getting the remaster treatment: Tales of Xillia! Originally released as a PlayStation 3 exclusive back in 2013, the game has been stuck on that platform for over a decade, but fans of this classic action RPG that helped to evolve the gameplay of the franchise is finally going multiplatform. This updated version will include new quality-of-life features such as the option to turn off combat encounters, destination markers, and all the game’s DLC included in this new release.
Tales of Xillia Remastered releases for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch, and PC on October 31st.

A PlayStation 2 classic is being reborn in a new remake from Konami! Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is finally launching this week, so Konami released a launch trailer ahead of its release. This new version retells the classic story of Big Boss long before the events of Metal Gear Solid and not only includes the monkey catching minigame inspired by Ape Escape for PlayStation and PC, you’ll go up against Bomberman if you’re playing the Xbox version. A new multiplayer mode titled Fox Hunt will also be available in this new release.

After its announcement in July, we’ve been given more details on the gameplay mechanics for My Hero Academia: All’s Justice! You’ll pick three characters to form a team to go up against another team of three with the goal of knocking all your enemies out. Switch between your characters either offensively or defensively, but if you’re in a pinch, you can evolve to a higher state of power to try and even the odds. If you’re only down to one character, you’ll automatically evolve to try and mount a comeback.

The second DLC character for Bleach Rebirth of Souls has joined the roster! The fourth captain of the Soul Reapers: Retsu Unohana is now playable with an awakening ability that mirrors her appearance and abilities in Bleach: The Thousand-Year Blood War.
Retsu Unohana will be available in Bleach Rebirth of Souls on August 25th, with Season Pass owners now having access to her.

We finally have information regarding the tenth entry in the Ys franchise coming to the West! Ys X: Proud Nordics released back in July in Japan, but we now have confirmation that the game is being localized by NIS America.

Anime News:
During this year’s Gamescom opening ceremony, we got the announcement that we’re getting an anime adaptation of a popular FromSoftware video game! Titled Sekiro: No Defeat, this anime adaptation from Studio Qzil.la looks to retell the events from the 2019 game: Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice.
Sekiro: No Defeat will premiere in 2026.

One of Microsoft’s biggest gaming franchises is going multiplatform this week! Gears of War: Reloaded is a new version of the original game and will feature upgraded visuals, enhanced performance, and access to the game’s DLC.

After over an decade since its announcement, Lost Soul Aside is finally releasing this week! This action game inspired by Final Fantasy XV sees you playing as Kaser as he traverses a wide variety of different dimensions with the assistance of a dragon-based entity called Arena. Switch between a variety of weapon forms Arena can transform into as you go up against hordes of enemies in this action game.

SEGA’s Shinobi series is finally returning with an all-new game this week! Shinobi: Art of Vengeance uses a 2D animation style as you traverse unique environments as Joe Musashi. New to the series is the Shinobi Execution mechanic, allowing you to tag multiple enemies and wipe them out in a single devastating attack.
