Making Lovers – Walkthrough & Guide

Making Lovers (Making*Lovers) takes you through a common route with several choice points. This guide will tell you which choices to make to access the five routes, and explains the situation regarding the adult patch.

18+ Content

If you have purchased the Steam version of Making Lovers, you can download the free 18+ DLC via the NekoNyan website. 

When you download this, extract the folder R18_1.02 and copy the contents into the MakingLovers install folder, replacing existing files when requested to. By default, this will be found at C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\MakingLovers. sysgrp.arc goes into the install folder, while data02130.arc, data01099.arc, and data01098.arc go into the Archive subfolder

If you’re having issues downloading the patch, then NekoNyan stated in a tweet “We’ve also largely identified the issue people have with downloading patches from our site as ISP level DNS blocking the domain/CDN. If you get errors trying to download, try changing your DNS on your computer or router to Google DNS (8.8.8.8) or Cloudflare (1.1.1.1)”.

Of course, you can instead buy the full version of Making Lovers from stores that support adult content and will then not need to install a patch to access the 18+ content.

Before You Start…

It only takes a few choices to get onto a route in Making Lovers. Certain choices after that may affect CGs. In particular, each route has two dates. The second date has an optional cosplay H-scene which is only unlocked if the date goes well. In each route, it instructs you to save before the relevant choices, go through the options to get the normal scene, and then load and go through the choices to get the cosplay version.

Choices within H-scenes themselves affect the variation that you see at the time, but both will be unlocked in the gallery.
