Visual Novel News:

TALESSHOP has released another one of their Korean visual novels in English. Dungeon Lord follows Montecristo, a devil who received a second-chance by returning to the past after his defeat.

Written by the author of “She is a Mermaid” and “The Fox Awaits Me”, this visual novel includes a gameplay element to summon and upgrade dungeon monsters. This unlocks new skins for the monsters and new reactions from your three henchwomen/heroines.

As a reminder, Aniplex of America and TYPE-MOON are launching the HD rerelease of Witch On the Holy Night (Mahoutsukai no Yoru/Mahoyo) on December 8th, 2022. It will be coming out in English, Chinese and Japanese on the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch.

CyberStep, Inc. has announced that they are developing a new visual novel called ‘Oidemase, Kokuri-san’ for PC, Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4. This is based on the VTuber Kokune Kokuri and is fully voiced with some scenes including ASMR.

While the linked press release is in Japanese, it has announced Japanese, English and Chinese releases.

Quite possibly the biggest video game film adaptation for 2023 is Illumination’s Super Mario Bros. Movie! Nintendo recently hosted a Nintendo Direct presentation to reveal the second trailer for the film, with this trailer giving us a glimpse of Princess Peach and Donkey Kong.

The Super Mario Bros. Movie premieres in April 2023.

If you missed your chance to get into the closed beta for Street Fighter 6, you’ll have another chance just before the year ends! A second closed beta test for the game will be taking place from December 16th to December 19th, giving you an early look into a ton of the game’s modes and access to 8 playable characters.

The Street Fighter 6 closed beta will be available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC.

While we wait for the next mainline entry in SEGA’s Yakuza series, make that wait a bit more bearable with the long-awaited western release of Like a Dragon: Ishin! This is a spin-off set in the distant past, with this new trailer focusing on the four different combat styles you’ll have access to.

While it isn’t a third season, fans of the wacky antics of KonoSuba will be getting more from this zany comedy isekai with a brand new spin-off series! KonoSuba: An Explosion on This Wonderful World is a prequel story focusing on the fan-favorite character, Megumin, and the antics she was taking part in a year before the events of the original series. To celebrate the character’s birthday, December 4th, we received a brand new trailer for the series.

During the premiere at an event in Japan, we got a brand new trailer for the return of Vash the Stampede! TRIGUN Stampede revealed quite a few things in this new trailer. The first reveals are for the opening and ending themes: the opening is being performed by Kvi Baba, with the ending provided by Salyu x haruka nakamura. What’s more, we finally have the premiere date for the new series: January 7th, 2023.
