Visual Novel News:

MUSICUS! has been released on MangaGamer.com and Steam. As noted when we mentioned this as an upcoming title some weeks ago, this is the final release for the renounced studio OverDrive, which also brought us Bokuten – Why I Became An Angel, Kira Kira, and Chou Dengeki Stryker. Overdrive titles are on sale at MangaGamer.com to celebrate.

ebi-hime has released The Mermaid of Zennor has on Steam. This original English Language visual novel follows Lilac, an isolated and  lonely girl who becomes fixated on her brother. After two months away, her brother returns, but his heart has been taken by another woman. Lilac finds her fragile mental state unraveling.

The House in Fata Morgana: Dreams of the Revenants Edition released digitally on the Nintendo Switch. This is a highly regarded visual novel, describing itself as a gothic suspense tale, set in a curse mansion. It has been previously released on PC and PlayStation platforms.

Gaming News:

The largest annual gaming event may have been missing last year, but E3 2021 has been confirmed to be happening! It’ll be a digital event and will be broadcast from June 12th to June 15th.

Fans have been eagerly wanting a follow-up to the DS cult classic The World Ends with You, and now that sequel is closer than ever! NEO: The World Ends with You‘s release date has been announced: July 27th! This was revealed in a brand new trailer that revealed the game’s English voice cast, along with the new mechanics and story sequences. On top of that, a PC version will be coming via the Epic Games store this Summer.

Still waiting in anticipation for Disgaea 6? Boltrend Games has got you covered with a western release of the Disgaea RPG mobile game! Available for both iOS and Android, the game is now available to download for all to enjoy!

Resident Evil Village is launching next month, so Capcom is helping build the hype with the announcement for a brand new Resident Evil Showcase! It promises to show new details on Resident Evil Village, as well as other surprises. It will be live on April 15th at 3pm (PDT) or 11pm (BST.)

Resident Evil Village launches for Playstation 5, Xbox Series X, Playstation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Stadia on May 7th.

Anime News:

It’s not often that anime announcements blow up social media a big way, but this one certainly did! Given the series’ success, it was only a matter of time before this was announced: an anime adaptation of Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure Part 6: Stone Ocean has been officially revealed! Not much has been revealed about the adaptation, but we got a key visual for the series and confirmation that Ai Fairouz will be playing the lead role of Jolyne Cujoh.

Those of you who are fans of mecha anime are no doubt aware of Macross and the American adaptation of the license that was renamed to Robotech. Over the last two decades, the licensing rights of the series between Big West and Harmony Gold have been fought over in legal battles, but that has now ended. In a surprise move, both companies have come to an agreement regarding worldwide rights, which means that most of the Macross films and anime series can be released internationally!

Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid S is definitely among one of the most anticipated anime series of 2021, marking the long-awaited return of Kyoto Animation to TV production! The studio has decided to keep the excitement building with the announcement and release of a series of shorts based on the series, dubbed Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid S Short Animation Series! The first of these shorts are now on Crunchyroll, with new episodes being released on Wednesdays.

Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid S is set to premiere this July.

An anime adaptation of Monthly Shonen Magazine’s Love After World Domination has been confirmed! From the minds of Hiroshi Noda and Takahiro Wakamatsu, it tells the story of an odd relationship between Fudo Aikawa, leader of a squad of heroes similar to Super Sentai, and Desumi Magahara, leader of the villainous Gecko organization. To celebrate, the series’ artist Takahiro Wakamatsu whipped up a drawing of the series promoting the announcement!

No release window has been announced for Love After World Domination‘s anime adaptation at this time.

By some miracle, Tiger & Bunny is still relevant and fondly remembered, despite no releases based on the franchise being released since 2014! It’s gotten to the point that the series is now celebrating its 10th anniversary! To celebrate, new anime visuals were released showing off the designs for the series’ protagonists Kotetsu T. Kaburagi and Barnaby Brooks Jr. This is to promote the series’ return with the highly anticipated second season planned for 2022.

Tiger & Bunny Season 2 will premiere in 2022.

If you thought One Piece was long, this may very well blow your mind! Takao Saito, the mangaka of the famous spy-themed manga Golgo 13 has received a Guinness World Record for “Most volumes published for a single manga series” with the series reaching 200 published volumes. Takao Saito is only the second mangaka to reach this milestone, with the Shonen Jump series KochiKame from Osamu Akimoto achieving this in 2016. However, Golgo 13 is still ongoing, so it’s certainly going to overtake it and go past 200 volumes!

Upcoming Releases:

Nippon Ichi Software is trying their hand with a brand new series with the release of Poison Control! This action JRPG has you take the role of a protagonist who has ended up in Hell, with you teaming up with a denizen of Hell to purify fallen souls while recounting their troubled pasts.

Poison Maiden launches for Playstation 4 and Nintendo Switch on April 13th in America and April 16th in Europe.

Trying to find and dust off a Playstation 1 may be a tough ordeal for some, which is a shame since some classic titles have yet to get a re-release. Thankfully, we can cross one game off that list, as the classic Squaresoft JPRG SaGa Frontier is getting remastered and released for modern systems!

SaGa Frontier is launching for Playstation 4, Nintendo Switch, PC, and mobile devices on April 15th.

Super Meat Boy Forever has been both fun and frustrating for those on PC and Switch, but now it’s set to release on other platforms! Current gen versions are launching this week, with next-gen and mobile versions planned, but not dated as of now.
