MangaGamer has announced that Higurashi When They Cry Hou+ will be released on the 9th November, 2023. It is currently is available for pre-order on MangaGamer and will also release on Steam.
The tragedy of Hinamizawa is over. Those held captive within its grip are free from the fate that bound them to June 1983. Yet the tale of Hinamizawa is not truly complete. There are many worlds not yet explored.
Another MangaGamer title, Nightmare x Vampire – Inferno of Retribution, is now available. This is the direct sequel to Nightmare x Onmyoji – Paradox of Forbiddance. This title is uncensored.
After learning that demons were the ones who killed her parents, Rei Kizuki took up her grandfather’s sword, and with the power of the vampiric blood flowing within her veins, she took the hunt to them in order to make them pay. Now her latest lead has set her path alongside that of two nuns, Setsuna and Yuka Shindo, who are once again pursuing an evil cult of demon worshipers that has taken root in the city. Will they be able to work together? Will they stop this branch of the cult that has spread its web into the local community? Or will Rei and the Sisters be forced to breed more of the demons they loathe?!
The crowdfunding project for Kimi Ga Nozumu Eien’s rerelease (also known as Rumbling Hearts) has undergone some changes to the release date, prices, and rewards. The page is now up and is scheduled to open at 21:30 on October 27, 2023 (JST). It’s expected to only contain Japanese language at launch, with English added in a later update.
A notable change for those outside of Japan wanting to support this project is that there is now a 4400 Yen (approx $29 USD) tier to receive a digital copy. This post initially incorrectly listed ‘name in the credits’ as a reward, which has since been corrected.
An all-ages version is mentioned, but no announcement has been made regarding an adult patch yet. There has been some community speculation that they may be unable to mention it, based on this recent post by Bamboo of Overdrive.

In further Muv Luv related news, The Imperial Capital Burns (Teito Moyu), a prequel to Muv-Luv Alternative Total Eclipse is coming to Steam in November. In addition, Muv-Luv & Muv-Luv Alternative will be coming to Nintendo Switch in Spring 2024.
Unfortunately, Shiravune have announced the delay of Destiny Star Girlfriend. The new release date is unknown at this time, but pre-orders remain available.

SukeraSomero have announced the upcoming release of Lip Trip, a yuri romance involving an employee and her editor-in-chief based on the Omegaverse concept. An 18+ patch will be available according to the website. While the announcement doesn’t mention English, Meru of LoveLabJapan/Fakku mentioned translating it. This is from the same developer as OshiRabu: Waifus Over Husbandos.
Sekai Project have announced that My Academy’s Special Place, the final entry in feng’s Special Place series, will be coming to Steam in Q4 of 2023. While not mentioned for this title, My Girlfriend’s Special Place and My Little Sister’s Special Place have both also been released on Denpasoft, so we would expect this to be the case for My Academy’s Special Place too.
Our hero’s homeroom teacher is also his big sister, Yaeka. She’s popular with the students, but at home, she’s a slobbish drunk. There’s Maika, an exchange student and Akiba nerd. She’s always asking him to go to Akiba with her. But Maika is told to return home. Two love stories are about to begin!
UsoNatsu ~The Summer Romance Bloomed From A Lie has been announced for release on the 24th October, 2023 (Update: This has now been delayed). This is an all-ages yuri romance, published by Sekai Project. Our initial impressions were positive and a demo is available for those interested in trying it themselves.

Gaming News:
We’re now less than one month away from the next spin-off in the Persona franchise, and it’s taking quite a different approach to the typical formula! Persona 5 Tactica received a brand new trailer, highlighting many of the game’s story cutscenes, along with brand-new footage of the strategy RPG gameplay that is quite unique for the franchise. On top of this, we’re getting day one DLC for the game, titled the Repaint Your Heart Challenge Pack.
Persona 5 Tactica launches for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC on November 17th. One of our team played a brief demo at EGX 2023, so check back for our impressions on that in our upcoming EGX article.

During the Final Fantasy Festival that recently took place, we got a ton of new information on the latest expansion for Final Fantasy XIV Online! We received an extended trailer for Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail and the announcement of a new DPS class called the Viper class. The game is also receiving a collaboration with Final Fantasy XVI in the form of a new boss fight, along with mounts and cosmetics themed around the game.
Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail releases for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, and PC in Summer 2024.

Anime News:
Ahead of its release in December, we’ve received new information on the long awaited English release of Hayao Miyazaki’s latest film, The Boy and the Heron! To be more specific, the English voice cast was announced, and it has some pretty big names! The list includes Christian Bale, Robert Pattinson, Dave Bautista, Willem Dafoe, and Mark Hamill.
The Boy and the Heron‘s English release will premiere in theaters on December 8th.

If you’ve never stepped into the shoes of Solid Snake or want to do so again, this release will be sure to catch your attention! The Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 packs in the first five mainline games in the Metal Gear Solid series. These include Metal Gear, Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake, Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. The game will also include the MGS VR Missions, along with the NES games from the franchise: Metal Gear and Snake’s Revenge.
