Hello to all of you! TrueStorySeamus here and I wanted to start this week’s news article with an important announcement:
It’s hard to believe that Thomas (or Nook as you may know him from the Discord server) and I have been working on these news articles for you for over half a decade and we hope you’ve all been enjoying them after all this time. However, I have the sad announcement that this will the final article I will be writing at NookGaming. And as well as that, the final instalment of our weekly news roundup, ‘Nook News’.
I joined the website back in 2020 and reviewed an incredible variety of games since I joined. I then began working on these news articles in 2021 co-writing them with Nook, covering the biggest news in the visual novel, video game, and anime on a weekly basis.
I am extremely grateful to Nook for giving me the opportunity to work on the website and my time here has taught me so much. I want to personally thank all the talented writers for being so welcoming and I sincerely wish all of you the best. And to all of you who’ve been reading these weekly articles, I cannot thank you all enough for keeping up with Nook News for all this time.
With all of that said, let’s see the news for the week:
Visual Novel News:
JAST BLUE have announced that the translation of Paradise Kiwame, the fandisc of the boys love visual novel Paradise by PIL/SLASH, has begun in both English and Chinese. In addition, they are re-releasing the first fandisc Paradise: Musubi with an updated localization that takes into account references to Kiwame which were initially missed. Those who bought Paradise: Musubi will receive the updated localization when it releases.

Gaming News:
The Dragon Ball Battle Hour took place recently, and it come with some big announcements for the gaming side of this massive franchise. Here are the highlights:
Previously announced as Project Age 1000, we now have the full announcement for the next big game in the Dragon Ball franchise. After almost a decade since the prior entry’s release, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 has finally been revealed! Dimps is once again handling the development of the title and is set in a highly advanced city in Age 1000 in the Dragon Ball timeline. Alongside revealing the new player character’s role in the story, we also have confirmation that Bulma will be playing a large role in the game’s narrative.

Dragon Ball Sparking! Zero also got a big news update all about its upcoming DLC content. Titled Super Limit-Breaking NEO, this new content package will include over 30 new playable characters, four new stages, over 20 new customisation items and super moves, and even a new game mode all about levelling up your character to become the mightiest warrior around.

With the announcement of Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3, one question remains: What about the fourth and final DLC for the Future Saga in Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2? We got our answer with a teaser trailer that hints at the story for the upcoming DLC pack. We also have confirmation that this will be the final piece of DLC to be released for the game, marking the end of support for the game after almost a decade.

Finally, we got a full reveal trailer for an all-new character coming to Dragon Ball FighterZ. Super Saiyan 4 Daima Goku is the latest DLC character coming to the game four years after the last DLC character was released. The package will also come with 12 character colors, three new Z Stamps, and three new lobby avatars.

But what about updates outside of the Dragon Ball Battle Hour? The full release date for Falcom’s second remake in the Trails series has been revealed. Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter released a short trailer confirming the that the remake will have a simultaneous worldwide release later this year.

While it may not be a remaster, fans of Bloodborne are finally getting some new content, but in an all-new format. Sony Pictures announced that an R-rated animated Bloodborne movie is now in development, with production being handled by Lyrical Animation. Seán McLoughlin, better known by his online handle, JackSepticEye is also helping produce the movie.

Paramount Pictures and Legendary have finally given us our first full look at their upcoming Street Fighter movie in the form of a trailer. The film is set in 1993 and series protagonists Ryu and Ken are invited by Chun-Li to enter an upcoming World Warrior fighting tournament. But behind the scenes, a deadly conspiracy is transpiring that will make this a tournament many won’t soon forget.
Street Fighter releases in theaters on October 16th.

The fourth DLC character coming to Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves got a full showcase ahead of his release. Known as the Emperor of Darkness, Wolfgang Krauser is being added to the roster and very soon too.
Wolfgang Krauser will be available in Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves on April 24th.

On the topic of fighting game DLC, Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles 2 is also adding a new character. A new version of Shinobu Kocho based on her appearance in the Infinity Castle movie is will be playable in-game and is the second to last DLC character to be added in the game’s season pass.

Anime News:
We got a new trailer for the upcoming remaster of Dragon Ball Super‘s Beerus arc. At the end of the trailer, it also hints at a remaster for the Resurrection F arc.

The fourth and final cour in Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War is fast approaching, and Viz Media are promoting the finale in a big way. Ahead of the series’ premiere in July, the first three episodes of Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War cour 4 will be screened in US theaters from June 25th to June 29th. The collection of episodes will be releasing with both a subtitled and English dubbed version.
