Visual Novel News:
MangaGamer have released Appetite’s S&M Lessons with the Cute Masochist Maid. In this visual novel, a maid suddenly arrives with news of the protagonist’s estranged father’s death. He is set to inherit the estate.
As you would expect from the title, this is an S&M focused title. The store page contains images more extreme than some other titles, so be warned before clicking.
In other MangaGamer news, the results of the 2022 licensing survey are out. This is where the visual novel community can let MangaGamer know which titles they want to see licensed and released in English. While there aren’t too many surprises when compared to the previous results, there are a few new entries.
Crystal Chameleon is a Sci-Fi Cyberpunk Original English Language Visual Novel (OELVN) Visual Novel based in a future where telepathic powers are common-place.
It’s been out for several years, but has recently changed from a paid model to pay what you want.

Brace yourselves, everyone! You’re about to be thrown into a swarm of hyped releases getting release dates, most of which will be happening this Summer:
The first release stars the world’s fastest hedgehog! Sonic the Hedgehog has been doing incredibly well at the box office with his recently released sequel film, but 2022 is the year he’s set to return to his platforming roots. Sonic Origins was announced last year as a collection of the four classic platformer titles that made him the icon he is today, but we finally have more information about the overall package. This collection is being worked on by the team behind the critically acclaimed Sonic Mania, expands the game’s field of view to 16:9, will include newly animated segments, and much more!
Sonic Origins lands for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC on Sonic’s 31st birthday, June 23rd.

From one mascot platformer to another: Bandai Namco’s Klonoa is set to make a similar comeback with Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series! This package includes remastered versions of both Klonoa: Door to Phantomile and Klonoa 2: Lunatea’s Veil. Originally announced to be coming to the Nintendo Switch first, it has now been confirmed that it will now be released for all other platforms on the same day.
Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series releases for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC on July 8th.
It’s been a long and arduous journey for Digimon Survive, but finally, after four long years, the game finally has a set release date! Announced by the game’s producer, Kazumasa Habu, this highly anticipated strategy RPG set in the Digimon universe will be released on July 29th for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
Though it will have some stiff competition, as Nintendo announced that one of their premiere RPG titles will be released sooner than expected. Originally slated for a September release window, Xenoblade Chronicles 3 will now launch for the Nintendo Switch on July 29th. A special edition of the title will also be available, which will include the game, a steel book, and an art book.

Finally, another big release from Nintendo is arriving on their Switch platform not too long afterward! Revealed in a gameplay showcase of their main multiplayer mode in-action, Splatoon 3 will arrive for the Nintendo Switch on September 9th. It was also announced that the Splatoon 2: Octo Expansion will now be available to anyone who’s subscribed to the Nintendo Switch Online + expansion service.

The most insane anime crossover in recent memory is coming to the big screen! ISEKAI QUARTET the Movie: Another World features a ton of characters from various light novel series published by KADOKAWA, including Re:ZERO, KonoSuba, Overlord, The Rising of the Shield Hero, and more.
ISEKAI QUARTET the Movie: Another World premieres in Japanese theaters on June 10th.

The popular mobile game Arknights is making its way to TV screens this year! Announced last October, we now have a proper first look at the series, titled Arknights [PRELUDE TO DAWN] in the form of a brand new trailer.

The Encouragement of Climb anime series has been around for nearly a decade, but it has never had a series comprised of 30-minute episodes… until now! An adaptation of the original manga by Siro, this new season titled Encouragement of Climb Next Summit released it’s first key visual and announced an October premiere window.
A new original romantic comedy anime series is slated for release later this year! Engage Kiss is a collaborative effort between writer Fumiaki Maruto (Saekano -How to Raise a Boring Girlfriend) and character designer Tsunako (Date a Live and Hyperdimension Neptunia.) We got our first look at the series in the form of a brand new trailer.
Engage Kiss premieres on July 2nd.
