Shift Up, the studio best known for Stellar Blade and Goddess of Victory: Nikke have acquired a Japanese game studio named Unbound. The studio is notable for being led by former Capcom legend, Shinji Mikami. Shift Up’s purchase of the studio is intended to improve their own output, while also serving as publisher for Unbound’s future games.

Upcoming Releases:
A Pokémon game all about the fighting aspect of the franchise is ready to release this week. Pokémon Champions looks to modernise the Stadium games that originated on the Nintendo 64 as you go up against other players with your own team of Pokémon. You’ll be able to transfer certain Pokémon from other games over using Pokémon Home so you can use your built-up teams in this new title.
Pokémon Champions launches for Nintendo Switch on April 8th. An iOS and Android version will be releasing sometime in 2026.
