外道催眠術師と囚われのマリオネット – The Savage Hypnotist’s Puppets – has been announced as releasing via Steam on the 25th August 2022 by CyberStep Inc.
This is a remake of a visual novel originally released in 2018 following a college student with a powerful hypnotic ability.
PQube has announced that they will be releasing visual novel/raising sim Lair Land Story on both PC (Steam) and Nintendo Switch.
Lair Land Story follows a man who found Chilia, a magical girl who saved his war-torn city from destruction. Having lost all memory of this, he takes her in and raises her over the course of four years. Please note that at the time of publishing a non-English version is listed on the linked Steam page and English will presumably become available on the release date.
Voltage Inc has announced an August 18th release on the Nintendo Switch for Irresistible Mistakes, which was originally released as Ano Yoru Kara Kimi wo Koi Shiteta via a smartphone app.
It describes itself as a ‘sensual yet realistic modern love story’, starting with a one night stand with someone who is almost a stranger.

In their regular fashion, Nintendo announced a Nintendo Direct the day before they broadcasted it, with this presentation being about one of their most anticipated new releases: Splatoon 3! The showcase revealed a ton of new information like stages, weapons, customization, and abilities. On top of this, a large piece of paid DLC will be coming to the game in the future. If you’d like to get a taste of the ink-shooting hijinks, a Splafest demo will be available on August 27th to decide which is better: Rock, Paper, or Scissors?

It’s time for the next installment in the Neptunia franchise to make its way to the west! While the franchise has had many spinoffs, Neptunia: Sisters VS Sisters is bringing the series back to its RPG roots in this new action RPG. Fans have been waiting for the next mainline instalment since 2016, and this may very well be the continuation they’ve been waiting for, but only time will tell if that’s really the case.

With Sonic the Hedgehog having two successful films under his belt and Mario soon to make his animated film debut, one more gaming icon is making his way to the silver screen! A live-action Pac-Man is now in development in a collaborative effort between Bandai Namco and Wayfarer Studios. No information regarding casting, release window, or much else was confirmed, but it’s safe to say that video game adaptations are more popular and successful than they’ve ever been!
On the topic of video game movies, easily one of the most anticipated is the third entry in the Sonic the Hedgehog film series! We may need to wait quite a while for it, but we have a release date for the film: December 20th, 2024. Fans of the blue blur may pick up on the fact that this is the exact same date when Sonic Adventure 2 Battle was released for the Gamecube in 2001, which may be a hint towards the story this new film will adapt.
Anime News:
Those of you that are big into sports anime may already be very well aware of Haikyuu!! While the original manga ended back in 2020, there is still more for the anime adaptation to adapt after its latest season ended. After two years of silence, Toho Animations announced that the finale of the series will take place across two films and Production I.G will return to animate them.
Haikyuu!! Final will release in Japan in August 2023.

Fans of Studio TRIGGER are eating up all the releases coming from the renowned studio, and they’re working on another project! TRIGGER’s next project is an anime adaptation of Delicious in Dungeon created by Ryoko Kui. The story is about a band of adventurers stuck in a dungeon who need to rescue one of their companions. However, they no longer have any provisions, so they make the decision to cook the monsters that lurk all around them, setting the stage for this food-themed story.
No release date for the Delicious in Dungeon adaptation has been announced at this time.
It’s hard to believe, but PSYCHO-PASS is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year! To celebrate the occasion, Production I.G and director Naoyoshi Shiotani are working on a new film for the franchise: PSYCHO-PASS PROVIDENCE. Other than a key visual for the film, no more news about the film, such as the release date, was announced at this time.
For fans of the skateboarding series SK8 the Infinity, you’ll be thrilled to hear we’re getting a continuation to the new series! Studio BONES recently announced that not only will we be getting an OVA, but it was also confirmed that a second season is currently in the works. Aside from that, we’ve got no news on when these will release.

It may not have been that long ago since Kirby’s last big adventure, but we’re already getting a brand new Kirby game! Kirby’s Dream Buffet is a 4-player party game that has you race, battle, and play mini-games with the goal to eat as much food as possible to outpace the competition.
Kirby’s Dram Buffet releases exclusively for Nintendo Switch on August 17th.
