Visual Novel News:

Rewrite+ was released to complaints about a variety of issues. It has now released a major update fixing several concerns around text, images and configuration.

Gaming News:

Announced back in July of last year, Valve’s Steam Deck has been highly anticipated as a means to play the incredible library of Steam games on a portable device. There was a slight delay, but we now have word on when the first set of shipments is planned to release: February 25th! If you managed to snag a preorder for one, Valve will be sending out order emails to allow you to pay the rest of the amount of the system. You’ll have 3 days to respond, otherwise, the reservation will go to the next person in the queue.

Famed VTuber group, hololive are planning to release a console game based on one of their characters! Minato Aqua is set to be the star and while we don’t have specifications for the system it will release on, it’s planned to release sometime in 2022.

It’s been quite a while since The Seven Deadly Sins last had a console game, but we’re finally getting another one! Titled The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin, this is an ambitious open-world title from Netmarble that’s heavily inspired by Genshin Impact and is set to release for consoles, PC, and mobile.

The sequel to Koei Tecmo and Gust’s popular RPG, Atelier Sophie is only a month away! A new trailer showcasing a bunch of the story was released, but it also provided details on the two special editions, save data bonuses if you played the DX versions of the Atelier games released last year, and even a collaboration with Bandai Namco’s hugely successful Tales of Arise!

Atelier Sophie 2: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Dream arrives for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC on February 25th.

Anime News:

The Studio Ghibli park that was announced a while ago now has an opening date: November 1st, 2022! The announcement was made in a collaboration with the Aichi Prefectural government, who also produced a short teaser for the park.

The prequel film to Shonen Jump’s Jujutsu Kaisen is coming to the west thanks to Crunchyroll! Jujutsu Kaisen 0 will be released across 1,500 US and Canadian theaters on March 18th, with ticket sales starting on February 25th. Outside of the United States, the film will also be coming to territories such as the UK, Germany, France, Australia, and much more.

Key is certainly keeping busy in 2022, as they’ve just announced a new mixed media project with help from Visual Arts! Titled Prima Doll, the first project for this series is a TV anime series, but will also include figures and tie-in novels.

The moment Mobile Suit Gundam fans have been waiting seven years for is finally here! The next Gundam series, titled Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury will premiere this October. The last series to be released was 2015’s Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans, so it’s about time for this legendary franchise to return to television!
