Unfortunately, our normal news writer Seamus is busy this week. As such, Nook News this week will only be the visual novel portion.
Visual Novel News:
NekoNyan recently released Renai X Royale (which you can find our review and guide for), and they’ve already announced their next title. The Future Radio and the Artificial Pigeons will be the next release, coming out in Q4 2022. This title is by Laplacian, who you may remember brought us Newton and the Apple Tree.
As we previously reported, Sacrifice Villains will be getting an English release. This is a visual novel with involvement from ClockUp, who are behind well known visual novels such as euphoria and Maggot Baits. Shiravune will be releasing it, rather than the MangaGamer who ClockUp have a pre-existing relationship with.
The date is listed as TBA, but it’s previously been indicated that the English release will be not long after the Japanese release.
Spike Chunsoft have reported that they won’t be releasing CHAOS;HEAD NOAH on Steam. It was previously rumored that the release was rejected by Steam, which was followed by the recent official announcement. This seems to have been true as Spike Chunsoft said that Steam would require changes to the game content that they are not willing to make.
The Nintendo Switch release remains unaffected and Spike Chunsoft is looking into delivering the game through alternate storefronts. There is currently a petition and an effort to start related hashtags trending on Twitter. You can also contact Valve directly by email, as we have.
Project Ensō, the publishing branch of indie development studio tofurocks, has launched a Co-Op Bundle on itch.io titled Queer Halloween Stories 2022. The bundle includes 16 Halloween-themed visual novels and other narrative games from 14 queer developers and studios. This costs $20 and includes games which range from dark horror to light-heated romance.
Great Gretuski Studios has announced that their otome visual novel Love Spell: Aslan’s Story releases on November 2, 2022. This is a standalone expansion for Love Spell: Written In The Stars.
While the studio recommend playing their original game, it mentions that this story continues from the prologue of the original game, so it seems it isn’t absolutely required.
