Trails of Cold Steel IV may have marked the end of the 4-part story, but NIS America bombarded us with a ton of news that any fan of the Legend series will be ecstatic to hear! Previously only announced for Japan, it was recently announced that it will be coming to the west thanks to SEGA publishing the title overseas. There is currently a manga of the series being published, with a game for iOS, Android, and PC releasing in September, and an anime series produced by SILVER LINK airing this October. All of these different releases tie into the world the franchise is building, which is a world that is ravaged by a disease and the source seems to be coming from Antarctica.

Anime News:

Studio MAPPA recently celebrated its 10th anniversary and had a bunch of announcements to share. The most exciting one was definitely the trailer for the highly anticipated anime adaptation of the popular Shonen Jump series, Tatsuki Fujimoto’s Chainsaw Man! The series follows Denji, a man showered in a mountain of debt. After getting betrayed by someone he trusted, a hidden power awakens inside Denji and becomes the titular Chainsaw Man.

Along with Chainsaw Man, we got an update on the second part of the final season of Attack on Titan. While the continuation of the series was teased at the end of the first part, we finally have a new key visual for the continuation of the season.

The second part of Attack on Titan‘s final season will air this Winter.

While we’re getting a second season in 2022, Made in Abyss is getting even more releases outside the world of anime. Currently under development by Columbia Pictures, a live-action film adaptation of Made in Abyss is in the works. Masi Oka, best known for the TV series Heroes is on the project, with Roy Lee producing with Vertigo Pictures and is being written/directed by Kevin Mc Mullin.

No premiere date for the film has been announced at this time.

Anohana‘s anime adaptation recently celebrated its 10th anniversary with a key visual specifically created to mark the occasion. At a screening for the series’ film, the director of the series Tatsuyuki Nagai jokingly remarked “…there were so many people buying tickets that they sold out in 5 minutes, leaving us no choice but to make a sequel.” While this doesn’t directly confirm a new project for the series, this quote implies that we could be seeing more from Anohana in the future.

Those of you with a Netflix account have another anime movie to look forward to! Words Bubble Up Like Soda Pop is a film that sees the relationship between two unlikely youths. The film acts as the 10th-anniversary project for FlyingDog, an anime music label from Victor Entertainment.
