Visual Novel News:
This was definitely a full week for visual novel news. There have been tons of new announcements, release dates and even a surprise rescued license. Jumping right into it, NekoNyan have made five visual novel announcements, along with their announcement of Lorena And The Land Of Ruins (a third-person platformer).
Ensemble! Secret Agent of the Knight Academy! follows Jin, a ninja from a family with a long history of protecting the country. He’s been ordered to infiltrate a Knight Academy in order to investigate a series of incidents, but gets found out. Luckily, instead of exposing him, the girl who discovered him asks him to train her as a ninja.
It’s listed as 100% translated and edited.
Floral Flowlove is by SagaPlanets, who also created Kinkoi: Golden Loveriche which we reviewed previously. It appears to focus on the protagonist’s relationship with four girls known as angels.
It’s listed as 84% translated.
The next announcement is also a title from Saga Planets. Kakenuke★Seishun Sparking has a more reluctant protagonist who is being dragged around by female friends who don’t want him to waste his youth. Instead he’d prefer to devote his time to his part-time job.
It’s listed as 10% translated.
Next up is Ren’ai X Royale. This title is from ASa Project, who created the popular Koikari: Love for Hire, which we reviewed previously, as well as Sankaku Renai: Love Triangle Trouble. In this title a sudden love confession from a transfer student sparks an underhanded battle royale for love between four girls.
It’s listed as 100% translated, and 5% edited.
The final announcement from NekoNyan was the big surprise. Long-time followers of NookGaming may remember that we spoke to Sol Press in late 2020 and they confirmed that Irotoridori no Sekai was coming out in 2021. It didn’t happen with Sol Press functionally collapsing after the disappearance of their CEO. NekoNyan have come to the rescue though and announced that will be releasing it. It’s particularly significant both as a rare rescued license and as NekoNyan was originally formed as a fan translation group for this game.
Irotoridori no Sekai is the first part of a trilogy of visual novels. It follows a magician with the ability to heal a person’s wounds, at the cost of his memories, which is an interesting concept. It takes place in a seaside town, linked to another world. It was listed as one of our most anticipated games for 2021.
It’s listed as 100% translated and edited, with engine work in progress.
Moving onto other publishers, MangaGamer had two recent announcements.
The sequel to How to Live a Healthy Hentai Lifestyle, How a Healthy Hentai Administers Public Service has been announced. This title from ClockUp is more focused on the sexual-aspect as you can tell from the below excerpt:
This time we follow the daily life of Jin Sintani, the precinct’s newest sex officer charged with serving the community and protecting the peaceful citizens of Vaginville from the threat of sexual frustration.
The other MangaGamer announcement is MADA Labo’s The Patient S Remedy. It’s a fully uncensored BL adventure from the creators of creators of Hadaka Shitsuji – Naked Butlers. Again it seems to lean more on the sexual side with the follow excerpt:
It turns out that Sota harbors what might be a miraculous cure for the disease in his bodily fluids! The diligent doctor thus offers Sota a deal – if he agrees to provide his semen and participate in the research to develop a cure, then he’ll be given special privileges within the hospital ward. Will Sota inject the other male patients with his cure for the sake of science and finding his own miracle treatment? Will he abuse the privileges granted to him in return?
Love Lab have also made an announcement and a couple of updates.
Sugar Sweet Temptation by Recette is a café story with a magical twist. A small patisserie was in danger of being closed down due to an injury, so the girls who work there made a wish for someone to come and save the shop. A mysterious young man appears and agrees to help them.
In updates, Chinkamo Twins has been given a release date of July 1st and Maid for Loving You is now 85% translated and is set to release before the end of the year.
JAST USA have announced the release date of the final instalment of the well known yuri visual novel series FLOWERS.
FLOWERS -Le volume sur hiver- is releasing on the 18th of June. Preorder for a 10% discount.
While not an announcement from this week, as we missed last week’s news update, it’s worth checking out Studio Elan’s Festival Recap. In short, they announced three titles: Who Is The Red Queen, Love in a Bottle, Twofold and Our Home, My Keeper. There were also announcements around physical versions and other goods for Heart of the Woods.

It’s hard to believe, but Square-Enix’s Final Fantasy VII is turning 25 years old this year! After the massive success of the Final Fantasy VII Remake, fans have been eagerly awaiting the next part of the story. Creative director and the original game’s character designer, Tetsuya Nomura recently made a statement that we should be expected to hear news regarding the game’s 25th anniversary this June!
Dead by Daylight is celebrating its 6th anniversary with a variety of new content coming to the game. During their anniversary presentation, they announced that they will be hosting a collaboration with Attack on Titan in the form of 10 unique outfits! While we don’t have a specific release window for the cosmetics, we were giving a sneak peek at some of the concept art for them.
Aside from Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes, Koei Tecmo is releasing another Warriors title that was assumed wasn’t getting a western release. While it was released back in February in Japan, Touken Ranbu Warriors is making its way to the west for the Switch and PC this week.
Touken Ranbu Warriors releases for PC on May 23rd and Nintendo Switch on May 24th.

If you’re looking forward to Makoto Shinkai’s next film coming to the west, you’ll be happy to know that it will be released thanks to CrunchyRoll! The company has teamed up with Sony Pictures and Wild Bunch international to distribute Suzume no Tajimari globally in early 2023!
Anime’s wildest firefighters are making a comeback with an announcement just in time for Summer! While Fire Force recently released its final manga volume in Japan, the anime adaptation will be getting a continuation with a third season, though no details or release window have been announced at this time.
