Ova Magica features 6 Bachelors and 7 Bachelorettes who you can befriend and eventually romance. This system was fully implemented as of the version 1.0 release on May 28, 2026. You can pursue any of them, regardless of the gender of your character. This guide breaks down exactly how to efficiently raise your relationship levels, unlock the Heart Events, and eventually romance and marry them.

How To Raise Relationship Levels
Before romance comes friendship. Due to the way that Ova Magica handles progression, you will need to befriend all of the bachelors and bachelorettes before you get married. This is needed to progress in the Clover Cup (the Blob battle tournament), which is needed for the unlocks required to get married (described in more detail further in the guide).
As is typical for games within the farming simulator genre, you need to increase your relationship level through various stages. At the end of each stage (each one requiring 15 points to complete), a Heart Event will be unlocked. You must trigger and watch the corresponding Heart Event to unlock the cap and begin earning points toward the next Heart level. Some events have additional requirements. For example, you need to raise Lapis to a specific relationship level before you can unlock one of Lazuli’s heart events. Ova Magica will state the requirements when you speak with the character when relevant.
You can use the map to view which bachelors and bachelorettes have available events and where they are located.
The ways that you can increase relationship levels are as follows:
- Talk to them once per day (Occasionally, conversations will provide dialogue options where you can earn a bonus point)
- Battle them one per day if they are available (some bachelors and bachelorettes won’t accept battles until certain Heart Events are viewed, such as Lapis and Lazuli, while others are available sometimes but not when they’re busy)
- Talk to them at festivals before and after the event. Some events allow you to earn bonus points depending on your actions.
- Take them into the Blob World to receive points on a safe return. You will need to be at a certain relationship level to unlock the ability to invite someone, which varies per character.
- Pay Jet in the newspaper office to raise the relationship points by up to 4 points with selected bachelors and bachelorettes within a level up to once per day (this can help with Lapis in particular, as his relationship level is slow to be raised). Please note that Ova Magica doesn’t stop you from paying for relationship points even when the 15 points within a relationship level are maxed out. Points do not carry over to the next relationship level.
Notably, unlike similar games in the genre, you cannot gift bachelors and bachelorettes items to increase the relationship levels.
Certain Heart Events may have associated tasks needed to proceed. This typically takes the form of unlocking a building blueprint during an initial Heart Events, then having Charoi build the required building. This needs to be followed up by going to the building generally, to trigger the next part of the event.
Unlocking Romance
Romance is a late-game event in Ova Magica. It only appears when you max out the relationship level with a character and view their final Heart Event.
At this point, you can speak with the bachelor or bachelorette, and it will provide you with dialogue options each time. One of these has a heart icon. If you choose this, it will increase the romance points, which max out at 10 per character.
There are no romance Heart Events related to this to watch, but there are a number of very short dialogues that imply some degree of romance when you speak with the character.
How to Get Married in Ova Magica
Getting married in Ova Magica is a challenge and only unlocks after you reach the credits. You have to complete a number of steps and invest significant resources.
Step 1: Beat the Clover Cup
The first step towards unlocking marriage is to beat the Clover Cup. As previously mentioned, you need to befriend all the bachelors and bachelorettes to varying levels to unlock the cups along the way, until you finally reach the Clover Cup, which is the final one.
Battle tactics are beyond the scope of this relationship guide, but you will face three opponents in 1v1 battles. These opponents range from level 72-78, with one of each element, so you will need to prepare for opponents of that strength.
Step 2: Build the Wedding Chapel
After you beat the Clover Cup and the credits roll, as part of the event you will be given the blueprints for the Wedding Chapel. Have Charoi build this. You will need:
- 10,000 Coins
- 100 Wood
- 20 Heart Fruit
- 10 Malachite Ingots
Step 3: Go to the Wedding Chapel
After Charoi has built the Wedding Chapel, speak with Renkka, who will be at the desk. She can create a ring for you and one of the bachelors or bachelorettes who you have collected 10 romance points with. You will need:
- 15,000 Coins
- 2 Gold Ingot
- 2 Malachite Ingot
You can then choose up to 5 guests to invite from the bachelors and bachelorettes. Several will be preselected for your partner’s side. Notably, you don’t have to ask your partner if they want to marry you.
Step 4: Get Married
A few days after you have asked Rennka to create the rings, you will get a letter inviting you to attend your wedding. Go to the Mayor’s Office after reading it to trigger the wedding event.
You will be given the chance to change your appearance and choose one of the blobs in your party to be the ring bearer.
Undoing Romance and Marriage
If you decide that your chosen partner isn’t right for you and want a “divorce”, you can change events to make it as if it never happened.
After one of Jade’s Heart Events, you can select ‘Dream until the next day’ at your bed. Do this and speak with the Keeper of Time. Then select “I want to undo my romantic feelings” and “Yes, proceed”.
This will essentially annul your marriage and reset the romance points for all characters, allowing you to pursue someone else. It will not affect your relationship levels.
